Overview
Letsellify is the development of a professional business e-commerce solution (platform) to address challenges in Nigeria's online market, especially for small scale businesses (MSMEs).
Problem
With over thirty (30) Million Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Nigeria only insignificant number, very small fraction of the total number has professional e-commerce website for selling online. Yet, the majority of MSMEs owners are leveraging social media platforms to engage in e-commerce inefficiently.
Planning & Methods





Research:
Field study
I started my field study by looking for existing data online regarding e-commerce in Nigeria and how it works.
Survey
Then I launched an online survey that I shared on Facebook group of traders, UX design communities that I take part in , and my personal network getting a bit less than 75 feedbacks



Competitive search
In parallel, I started a competitive search on a website and app that specializes in buying, selling, and payments of products.
I evaluated the following brands regarding different UX aspects as well as online review of their applications, to better understand how their users speak of them.
I went through their logistics and shopping process to get a better understanding of their features and flow

The criteria that I assessed were user interface, navigation and information architecture, interactivity & responsiveness, accessibility, micro interactions, and features.

Proto Persona
As I am lacking relevant interviews, I completed the proto persona with the research findings from previous researches (survey, field study & competitive search)

User journey map
To have a better overall experience on the shopping and e-store process, I used a user journey map. It allowed me to point out opportunities for the design process.
Victor wants to find quickly an e-store to shop for his home appliances easily and to be delivered on time.

Iteration:
Define the problem
To do so, I used the persona and the user journey map, specially focusing on opportunities section, to create a brief for the following brainstorming.
How can we improve Victor's shopping experience making it more relevant, and aligned with his preferences?
Since the research I lead indicated challenges in Nigeria online market, I chose to work on enabling vendors to set up and manage their shop online.

As most of the users in the age range of the persona are using a smartphone, I will be designing with this context first.

Based on feedback from our lo-fi user testing, we've taken a step further to enhance users’ search experience. Introducing new filters, including pricing options, to cater to the diverse preferences of our community.
